Senior Advisor

PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

To support the Cluster Leaders in their work with local and Nord Anglia staff –raising standards by increasing subject knowledge and improving the quality of teaching and learning.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Under the guidance of the PD Manager

  1. Deliver the goals of the Public-Private partnership through the implementation of effective quality assurance procedures
  2. Assist in the implementation of the ADEC curriculum where the achievement of high standards is through a rich, varied and exciting curriculum
  3. Develop teachers’ and advisors’ own professionalism and capacity to teach better, with bespoke support they can draw on to meet their particular needs
  4. Monitor, review and evaluate the quality and impact of teaching and use the outcomes to identify professional development needs
  5. Liaise effectively with the parent ambassador to ensure excellent communication between parents and the community and the project
  6. Develop effective communication within and between clusters to ensure the dissemination of best practice
  7. Provide professional development for the NA team and local staff as and when required
  8. Perform other related duties as required by the PD Manager, CLs, Dep Director and Director

REQUIREMENTS

  1. Qualifications: Minimum of bachelor degree in related subject or equivalent
  2. Experience and Knowledge:
    1. 3 years’ of teaching experience
    2. Strong professional subject knowledge
    3. Outstanding classroom practice/relevant experience
    4. Experienced in leading teams in schools
    5. Excellent knowledge of child development
    6. Well-versed in curriculum management and development
    7. Experience of disseminating good practice to others
    8. Excellent child management, including behaviour management
    9. Experience of management in an educational setting
    10. An effective coach and mentor
    11. Preferably familiar with education in Arab countries and with ESOL issues
  3. Management and Leadership:
    1. Excellent planning, organisational and interpersonal skills
    2. Enthusiasm, energy, modelling effective behaviour, communicating a vision, sharing values
    3. Excellent oral and written communication in English
    4. Able to present a professional public face
