ESOL Advisor

RESPONSIBLE TO:

PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

To support and advise advisors and local staff in order to raise the standard of English

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Under the guidance of the Cluster Leaders

  1. Deliver the goals of the Public-Private partnership through the implementation of effective quality assurance procedures
  2. Provide ELT training for the NA team
  3. Provide, organise, schedule, resource and quality assure (QA) English Language courses for local staff and parents
  4. Provide professional development for the NA team and local staff as and when required
  5. Provide an ESOL perspective on curriculum development
  6. Develop effective communication within and between clusters to ensure the dissemination of best practice
  7. Monitor, review and evaluate the quality and impact of teaching and use the outcomes to identify professional development needs
  8. Perform other related duties as required by the Cluster Leader, Deputy Director or Director

REQUIREMENTS

  1. Qualifications: Degree or equivalent in English and/or ESOL/TEFL
  2. Experience and Knowledge:
    1. 3 years relevant teaching experience
    2. Strong professional knowledge
    3. Experienced in ESOL education and leading teams
    4. Excellent knowledge of child development
    5. Experience of disseminating good practice to others
    6. Excellent child management, including behaviour management
    7. A fluent communicator in English
    8. Knowledge of education in Arab countries would be an advantage
