Cluster Leader

PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
To develop the principals’ professional expertise and self confidence. The Cluster Leader will work alongside the principals in order to mentor them in quality leadership and management of their schools. The Cluster Leader will support the Director of Schools in the delivery of the contract against the Key Performance Indicators stipulated by ADEC and assist the Director in formulating and implementing the strategy for the continuous improvement of the quality of teaching and learning.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Under the guidance of the Director of Schools and/or Deputy Directors
- Mentor the principals of the constituent kindergartens and schools including working alongside them in order to induct them into the management of the curriculum and the performance management of staff
- Deliver the goals of the Public-Private Partnership through the implementation of effective quality assurance procedures
- Produce regular and timely reports on the progress of the contract against the Performance Evaluation Indicators to the AEDC and to the Nord Anglia Director of Schools
- Formulate, implement and manage a strategy for the performance management of all teaching staff
- Manage the implementation of a broad and balanced curriculum where the achievement of high standards is through a rich, varied and exciting curriculum
- Design, implement and evaluate a strategy for the continuous professional development of staff that makes best use of the skills of everyone in the school
- Develop teachers’ own professionalism and capacity to teach better, with bespoke support they can draw on to meet their particular needs
- Monitor, review and evaluate the quality and impact of teaching and use the outcomes to identify professional development needs
- Manage ESOL teachers to ensure efficient and effective use is made of their expertise
- Liaise effectively with the parental ambassador to ensure excellent communication between parents and the community and the project
- Produce a Forward Plan for the cluster
- Develop effective communication within and between clusters, including the organisation of cluster meetings, to ensure the dissemination of best practice
- Work in partnership with other contractors to improve practice and procedures
- Perform other related reasonable duties as requested by the Deputy Director and/or Director of Schools
REQUIREMENTS
- Experience and Knowledge:
- Strong professional knowledge
- Experienced in school management and leadership either as a Deputy Headteacher or a Headteacher
- Well-versed in curriculum management
- Familiar with education in Arab countries, and with ESOL issues
- Expert in the use and analysis of performance data and in the performance management of teachers
- A fluent English speaker
- Management and Leadership:
