Foundation Gateway
Nord Anglia's Foundation Gateway offers an attractive, secure environment in which students can flourish and grow, developing confidence and 'life skills' as they raise their competence in English language (as measured through IELTS) and ICT. The curriculum is centred on a 'project-based' learning environment. Core skills are applied to 'real life' situations, within an overall framework that is contextualised to students' experiences, aspirations and life skills.
This project - which delivers a full-time training programme of 20 hours per week per student to over 200 female students - was established within a timeframe of 6 weeks. This involved sourcing, fitting out and networking a dedicated teaching facility, recruiting staff, writing a curriculum, and enrolling and inducting over 200 students. The success of the project is indicative of Nord Anglia's abilities to mobilize complex projects and achieve results quickly and effectively.
The Foundation Gateway Project has been well received by ADEC, who commented that Nord Anglia's "Holistic approach to the foundation year is much more likely to succeed" as "the programme offers a model that goes beyond the traditional Foundation Programme".
